back seat of bridal car pose

Bride in the car pose

This is another must have pose. I take this shot either before the bride leaves for the ceremony or when she arrives. I never let the opportunity go for this, as it is a classic one and it just looks good. I ask the bride to open the window, and try to lean with both elbows and look at the camera or on the side. Depending on the position, I can do a wide shot perpendicular on the car following the rule of thirds or just to try a telephoto long portrait from the side. Sometimes I can take some very good portraits with the macro 100 mm F2.8.

I always prefer to shoot in the shadow and when I get full sun, I am asking the bride to stay inside and expose for her face in the shadow of the car and everything else is blown out. Obviously this is about her portrait and facial expression rather than the car details and the surroundings
