Bride’s eyes

photo critique kyrillos shawky

Rating myself in the attached image which was taken by me ” kyrillos shawky “
content:  8 out of 10.., ” bride’s eyes ”  I like to take many shoots for eyes , especially bride’s eyes because when I shoot it I feel that I capture the happens in her eyes.
Compositions

7 out of 10.  I think that the eyes in the photo gives a kind of power because every one looks to eyes first, and for me I feel that eyes follow the rule of thirds and it is an interesting position.,
Quality
8 out of  10 I like silver shoots because it gives a classic romantic feeling..

Kyrillos

thank you for your submission. Not sure if you took my advice and inspiration for the bride’s eyes composition for a wedding

This is a bit far away from my photo but this is irrelevant. Let’s hav a look to see if you overrate yourself or not.

bride's eyes

Content 4 out of 10

if you would have not told me she is a bride I would have never guessed. That confuses me as this is a very dark portrait of a girl looking over a man’s shoulder. The reason not giving you more is exactly the fact you could not tell me the story of a “bride” clearly. Image is very dark industrial, underground….as a wedding photographer i have never seen such as dark image in a wedding. can you tell me why?

Composition 3 out of 10

if her eyes are in the lower section on the image does not work here, it destroys the balance. The face is to big in the picture, does not breath comfortably and also is surrounded by darkness. I see your intent was the rule of thirds but you have other elements to worry about here.

Image quality 5 out of 10

I gave you a 5 for the clarity if the pic. I am not assesing the silver look, as this will be your subjective approach, I personally do not go for it but that is not relevant. The light is from your flash on your camera, and there is not nice light. it does not help her. This is not a “classic” look. Can you show me a comparison what you wanted to achieve?

Final TRS mark 4 out of 10

Despite the fact i can see photo skills in your image, intention, thinking process I cannot rate this higher as it is not an attractive look. The girl is beautiful the image could have been fantastic very easy.

I think this is harsher than you want to hear, but try to step away from your own personality for one second and see the picture through someone else’s eyes. Do you have another picture to submit? i do not think this one shows your true skills. Can I ask what do you shoot with? was this a paid job?
