Canon EF 70-200 mm L F2.8
hands on review by Christian
Please see above the video with our review for the high quality telephoto lens form Canon. Without going into too much technical data, our focus is to see the pros and cons for this lens selection
Canon EF 70-200 pros:
- good quality glass
- you can shoot from a big distance
- wide aperture for low light
- size to impress
Cons:
- heavy
- it is not as sharp as other lenses in the range
- no image stabilisation
- price
Recommendation – for any serious photographer it is very important to carry a telephoto lens in your bag in order to enable you to shoot from a distance, candid portraits with the nice blurry background everyone loves so much. In the good quality lens value range, this is not an expensive one, however it does have the compromise of the missing image stabilisation which is doubling the price for its bigger brother the IS version. Using a tripod or shooting more pictures will save the situation and get you the expected sharpness,
Despite of the above, Canon EF 70-200 MM F2.8 is recommended as a high quality lens and as a must in every serious photographer (obviously shooting Canon)
