I am from Indonesia, but at the moment I live in Wollongong Australia to study
Happy New Years 2014 guys,
From Wollongong, i took a train and went to Sydney to watch my first new years eve fireworks in Australia. I arrived at Circular Quay at 11am,
Then I was walking around that place to search for the good spot to take photo, but then realized there were plenty of people already sit at the sweet spots, I know i should came earlier 🙁 .

However, small rain made most of the people left who already at the front leave their place and but i stayed under the umbrella and managed my way to move slightly little by little to the front row and finally i got a good spot to shoot fireworks.
I was lucky that i came with friends, so I didn’t get bored. We wait patiently until the night come.
I shot some fireworks before in Jakarta Indonesia, but this NYE fireworks in Sydney is the best fireworks i’ve ever seen.

Thank you for your submission. I am happy to see these images as they look great and I will be also happy to use the TRS (Tudor Rating System) for them. I believe I can make comments in bulk, for all 3 of them in teh same time as they are not that different
Sydney Fire Works New Year 2014
Content – I would rate this a 7. I have seen fireworks before, however you have spent the one special night of the year focused on your camera and missing some of the fun because you worried about it, I would give you the 7. I know you must have spent the entire day waiting for it and that shows a lot of commitment. For a normal fireworks I would probably say a 6 but this is the extra point.
Composition – TRS mark – 7 out of 10. I see the lights breath comfortable, there is a nice visual balance, I see a nice perspective, decent zoom to include the extent of the fire works
Image quality – 8 out of 10 – I see that you are competent with your camera and can produce visual appealing images. I see that you have used the right shutter speed to cover the trajectory of one set of fire works and I enjoy the balance between the light and dark
Overall rating – a bit above 7 which puts your work into the GOOD PHOTOGRAPHY category
I like your images, are visually appealing and you show as a competent photographer
Thank you for your submission.
if you are not with the Tudor Rating System, please see the associated article. I would like to see some more photography from you covering something else. Before sending photos, please rate the images yourself first.

Hi Christian
Thank you for your comment.
I need some constructive opinion from professional photographer because i would not just rely how good my work is based on friends or family’s comments.
Most of my friends are just saying a simple words like “awesome, great, nice, good” etc, some of them are irritated because i uploaded them everywhere (facebook, flickr, instagram) but i don’t care 😀
However, because there are too many smokes on the pictures i would say it would decrease the image quality, but i am really happy with the pictures.
I know that you do not like watermark in the middle of picture, but this is what i have to do to prevent my photos being uploaded by my friends or people in social media without acknowledging the photographers, because it has happened so many times before.
Anyway, if i am still in Sydney next year, i would love to shoot NYE fireworks again from different angle/location.
Thanks
