The DIP

Wedding photo posing guide

One of the classic poses that always work is the DIP as I like to call it. Basically you need to ask the groom to take the position, with his left knee bended as per the image below and ask the bride to join him and both of them should bend just like a dance move. It is not as straight forward as one might think, as most of people never posed in their life and giving them directions what to do and how to act will get them in unnatural positions. So my siggestion as a photographer is to show them the position, perhaps have a picture on your phone and show it to them. Let them get in a close position that feels natural and ask them to hug and kiss. Tkae few shots with the wide angle and few shots with the tele photo lens, for the nice depth of field effect.

I believe the best backgrounds are the textured walls and rhythmic elements like archways, bridges, fences and everything that suggests step. That in itself as compositional elements are going to help you achieve beauty. If you have not see on our composition section, please take few minutes to reflect as it relates directly with this technique on posing the bridal couple and make the pictures look good.

We do not shoe here the super complicated, but the simple and effective way to include beauty as it has rules, and if followed properly, your works will be liked and enjoyed
